I am always looking for petite friendly dresses that require no tailoring! Here I discuss How to Find a Petite Friendly Fit with Bloomingdale’s Aqua Dresses. This exclusive Bloomingdale’s brand has proven to be petite friendly in the past and continues to not disappoint.
Outfit: Bloomingdale’s Aqua Mixed Lace Dress X-Small & Aqua Color Block Dress X-Small; Tory Burch Robinson Chain Wallet; Steve Madden Stecy Heel (Size 5.5)
I was reminded of this petite friendly dress brand by Annie @StylishPetite when she reviewed this Scallop Colorblock Dress HERE and HERE. Thank you Annie!
During one of Bloomingdale’s recent sales I decided to purchase a couple Aqua dresses that caught my eye. Here is my fit review…
- Size: X-Small in Bloomingdale’s Aqua brand requires NO TAILORING! This is amazing for petite ladies. To compare this sizing to other brands I own and love, Bloomingdale’s Aqua brand fits similar or smaller than…
- BCBG Maxazria X-Small (see ‘3 Reasons Why I Love Wrap Dresses for Work’)
- Ann Taylor Petite 00 or Petite XXS
- Banana Republic Petite 00 or Petite XXS
- Length: Appropriate for petite legs (I have ~27.5 inch inseam). I prefer dresses to hit above the knee—particularly because I have genetically larger calves compared to my petite body & try to elongate them with my style choices. Remember when considering length while browsing online that many of the models are tall–Bloomingdale’s lists the model height clearly on the website and this dress looked mid-thigh on her at 5’10”.
- Cut: Arm holes and Shoulder width are appropriate. This means no showing of undergarments when lift arm—yes I actually do check this when trying on dresses or tops.
With KonMari Philosophy I invest in items that truly spark joy.
Do these dresses spark joy?
Note: I would wear a different undergarment under this dress & steam it before wearing it to a real event. Here you can see how it wrinkles easily.
Chain Wallet:
I purchased both of these Tory Burch chain wallets during http://www.toryburch.com online sales for <$200. A similar pink color is available along with a very versatile French Gray color my sister has been eyeing for awhile. A full review of this versatile wallet/clutch/chain is HERE.
On a different topic, I am wearing these Steve Madden heels in these photos but I would highly recommend trying them on and ensuring walkability in them before purchasing. I wore these once and since then I have had terrible problems wearing them for more than 30-60 minutes; yes they make your legs look longer and are a great neutral to coordinate with many dress styles but comfort may not be the best. Just being honest here…
Do you own any Bloomingdale’s Aqua brand dresses? What wallet color do you prefer with these dresses? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments! Thank you for reading and please come back soon.
