How to Style Summer Florals in Fall
This is the third post in a 3-Part Series on How to Transition Summer Pieces to Fall. Please see Part I on Summer Dresses & Part II on Summer Pants.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how to get more mileage out of my wardrobe. You know I love KonMari Philosophy and lean towards a capsule-wardrobe mentality. Therefore, I needed my favorite summer floral prints to transition into fall weather.
I know many of you probably have the same problem so here I share my thoughts on how to transition summer florals into the fall season!

1. Add Colored Denim
I love colored denim and own a pair in my favorite color: teal green! Fall colors for colored denim include: green (hunter or olive green), burgundy, and mustard yellow. I finished off this outfit with a classic brown belt and denim jacket if I needed another layer.
My favorite denim company is Paige Denim. They are a little more expensive so I have included other stores that are petite-friendly and more affordable: LOFT or Nordstrom.
2. Add a Cardigan with Colorful Skirt
I love this yellow pleated skirt from LOFT and wanted to transition it into fall. I paired this floral top with a navy cardigan and navy heels. The darker elements from the cardigan and heels tie into fall weather. This also makes the outfit work-appropriate.
3. Add a Neutral Color Theme
I love gray as a neutral color. Here I wanted to put together a business-casual outfit with a floral top. I picked out one of my favorite skirts – flare skirts are SO comfortable – from Theory and paired it with a black cardigan and gray ballet flats (of course my favorites from Tieks).
Remember there are different shades of gray that you can incorporate here. I wore a medium shade of gray in my skirt and ballet flats and went darker to a black color for my cardigan. You could also pair this with a lighter gray denim jean or a charcoal colored skirt.
