I’m always looking for great quality investment pieces for my wardrobe. Remember my KonMari Philosophy is investing in quality over quantity and items that truly spark joy! (Read more HERE) I came across this Banana Republic tweed jacket ~1.5 years ago. It definitely sparked joy when I saw it and tried it on in the store (a rarity since I’m an avid online shopper!). I thought it was a great investment piece (albeit on sale because I rarely ever pay full-price for anything).

Here is my take on How to Style a Tweed Jacket: Summer to Fall Transition
- Color: The combination of white, black & gray is perfect for easily pairing with many different colors or print combinations for layering.
- Pair it with white denim (shown in these photos) for a summer outfit
- Change into regular blue denim for a fall outfit
- Also pair with classic work pants such as Banana Republic Sloan Slim-Fit for a work outfit (my review HERE)
- Change out the belt for a different look (…if you’ve been following my blog/social media you know I have a few go-to belt looks—Tory Burch or Talbots/Hermes Horsebit)
- Change out the top for many different looks; I own a few lace tops that I absolutely love but I also like a sleeveless blouse with either a blush pink color or pop of color underneath this blazer
- Professional: I always look for clothing pieces that I can wear BOTH for work & casual Since I spend 5 days out of the week in work wear, this is really important to me. My clothing MUST function in both settings to have the most bang for my buck. This is truly what differentiates my purchase break point for many of my clothing pieces (I’ll save more discussion for another blog post…)
- Fabric/Texture: This particular jacket is a unique texture; lightweight enough to wear during the summer but heavy enough to use as a layering piece
I did size up to a Petite 0 instead of my usual Petite 00 because of the sleeve tightness and ability to truly use this as a layering item (note, I do not wear long-sleeves with it though—short-sleeve or sleeveless items underneath). Luckily Banana Republic has brought back a very similar jacket this year but not in petite sizes while Loft has a tweed jacket in petite sizing. I have linked other options I think look good & come from brands I wear & trust for petite sizing.
I love these Vince Camuto Franell – Notched Bootie and HERE is my full review on them. The Vince Camuto website does have ALL sizes still in stock! They sold out FAST last season; my sister & I share 3 colors of this style booties – great for petites because of the notched area to elongate the legs.
If you are looking for a heavier tweed jacket for outdoor use Banana Republic also came out with this Plaid Jacket that comes in Petite Sizing!
Do you own any blazers/jackets like this tweed one? How are you able to transition from summer to fall in style?
