Today I’m excited to share another company on my Giving Back Series with Cards for Canines. This Etsy Shop is amazing and the owner, Abby, is a sweetheart. Cards for Canines is the perfect dog lover gift (or pet owner gift) – watercolor portraits and greeting cards of your own dog, puppy or other pet! Cards for Canines was created to celebrate pets (more than just dogs too) while simultaneously giving back to humane rescue animal and dog shelters.

Why?
Why I am I sharing this Etsy Shop with you today? I know this is outside my style advice topic area but I met Abby through a friend – she is a fellow petite woman with almost the same measurements as me! – and a passionate small business owner. As 2016 ended and 2017 began, I decided to start a Giving Back Series, to really showcase companies or small business who value charity and giving back. Plus, you may have seen Cards for Canines already in my Gift Guide for Anyone post or shopping tab HERE.
Meet Abby – Owner of Cards for Canines
Abby was in the fashion design business before transitioning to helping pets in need! She is a diehard dog lover and master watercolor painter. Her story is really touching; please head on over to her website to read more HERE.

Giving Back with Cards for Canines
Cards for Canines supports local no-kill animal and dog shelters. In 2016, they were able to donate $2,300! This is amazing Abby! Be sure to help support Cards for Canines; purchase a product or create a custom order to continue giving back to pets in need & allowing donations to reach more animals in 2017!

I am SO excited to show off the portraits Abby completed for me – well they were a birthday/holiday gifts for my twin sister & brother-in-law. They own a black lab – Levi – and a golden retriever – Hudson. I love these dogs and couldn’t wait to get this gift ready for them.
I created a custom order with Abby – an 8″ x 10″ portrait of each dog and a set of 10 greeting cards with both dogs on the cover!
As some of you know, black labs are very difficult to photograph and paint because of they’re dark complexion. I think Abby portrayed Levi and Hudson perfectly in the portraits.

I think these portraits and greeting cards make wonderful gifts all-year round. I don’t like to limit myself to Holiday/Christmas gifts – I think about Birthdays, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduations, Teacher Appreciation, New Pet Owners and just to say “thanks”.
