It’s Christmas Week! That means you may be preparing for last minute holiday parties and New Year’s Eve celebrations, right? That’s why I put together one of my favorite holiday looks – a gold holiday party dress – that easily transitions to a cocktail/party dress for other occasions throughout the year. My favorite dresses come from: Ann Taylor, Bloomingdale’s, and Nordstrom. See my picks below & find out where the dress I’m wearing is from…

Gold Holiday Party Dress
Fit:
This Ann Taylor gold holiday party dress did require alterations to fit my petite-figure. My tailor took in ~1.5 inches on EACH side of the dress to make it a little more form fitting. It is not skin tight or anything and you can see how it still does not touch the skin on my back. No alterations were required for the top/chest of the dress. More information on my sizing/measurements on my About Page.
Machine Wash versus Dry-Clean:
If you frequently read my posts then you know I prefer to machine wash my clothes. When I found out this dress was machine-washable I was SO excited. This is definitely something I ALWAYS check on dresses since the majority are made of “dry-clean only” fabrics. Keep this in mind while searching for your next dress.
Why I think a Gold Dress is Versatile for year-round wear:
I’m all about practicality and versatility, that’s why I decided to purchase this gold dress. I knew it would be perfect for a couple holiday parties this season. Plus, it can be worn as a cocktail dress or evening dress to other events throughout the year. No need for it to accumulate dust in my closet during non-holiday seasons, right? The next event I plan to wear it to is my cousin’s wedding in late February.
What other ways can I style a Gold Dress year-round?
- Add a black cardigan or blazer for work
- Add opaque stockings for work (my favorites are from Talbots)
- Add a blouse underneath the dress
- Add a statement coat to really turn heads – I highly recommend a red statement coat for this – I’m sure you’ve seen me wear mine on Instagram quite often!
