3 Ways to Style a Burgundy Cardigan
A burgundy (or maroon) cardigan is a staple piece. Many of you have requested outfit inspiration and today I’m showing you three ways to style a burgundy cardigan! Currently, Los Angeles is experiencing hot and cold temperature variations so I styled it for the in-between winter to spring transition period. For those in very cold temperatures, layer your outfit with a winter coat, scarf and mittens! For those itching to wear spring attire now, I’ve included Style Tips below each outfit for how I would wear the pieces in Spring!

Sizing on this Cardigan: I love a long cardigan in vibrant colors other than your usual navy, black and taupe. This cardigan has been on sale for quite awhile for <$30 and comes in regular or petite sizing. I decided to keep the XXS Petite in this cardigan. It fits well in the shoulders and is not too long on my petite frame. It also comes in 4 other colors, shop it here.
Style Tip: I like to pair burgundy with neutral colors. One of my favorite colors to pair with burgundy is mustard yellow. The rich hues of each perfectly enhance one another!
Outfit #1
Printed Top + Dark Denim + Ankle Booties
A printed top with a maroon hue within it pairs perfectly with this burgundy cardigan. Keeping the color tone on the darker side, I opted to wear dark wash denim with this top. Finish off the outfit with your favorite pair of ankle booties and you’ll be running errands with ease.
Style Tip for Winter to Spring: Trade out these ankle booties for block heeled sandals in a dark brown color and you’ll be showing off your pedicure in style!

Outfit #2
Navy + Mustard Yellow
I LOVE pairing mustard yellow with burgundy and this is a go-to tunic blouse that is the perfect combination with a long cardigan. I’ve styled this outfit for work and tucked the blouse into my go-to work pants in navy. Finish off the look with neutrals in navy with a belt and bow heels.
Style Tip for Winter to Spring: Trade in this tunic blouse for a sleeveless blouse (and maybe add in scallops) to freshen up this look! Read my full blog post on how to style navy & mustard yellow together!

Outfit #3
Riding Boots + Neutrals
This final outfit includes a few casual favorites of mine. A V-Neck Tee in a neutral color (called ashen silver here) pairs well with this burgundy cardigan. You can also opt for white, taupe or gray here. I decided to go lighter on the pants with white denim and finish off the look with tall riding boots in brown.
Style Tip for Winter to Spring: Trade in the tall riding boots for slip-on sneakers or loafers in a light gray or pastel spring color!
