Florals + Yellow | Petite Pleated Skirt
Banana Republic Floral Top + LOFT Petite-Pleated Yellow Skirt
With summertime just around the corner, I decided to introduce a new item to my wardrobe and go outside my comfort zone with this outfit!

Honestly, I don’t wear skirts very often. I’ve had trouble recently because my pencil skirts for work are a little big in the waist and it’s difficult to find a way to wear them. So when I was browsing the LOFT website recently, I was surprised when my eye caught this gorgeous yellow skirt. I immediately fell in love and knew I wanted to give it a try – one, I don’t own any yellow in my wardrobe and two, I don’t own a pleated skirt! I thought the color was amazing and vibrant and would go nicely with many different tops.
The LOFT Pleated Skirt arrived (thanks to Petite Ave) in Petite 00 and the color was beautiful in person! The 00P fit well in the waist – if I want to wear it higher on my waist though it would need some tailoring/alterations. The fabric is nice – it will travel well without wrinkles (pleats help hide the wrinkles too), is machine-washable, has a lining and is not see-through!
I styled it with my favorite Banana Republic Floral top (which is actually a cold-shoulder ruffle top but I wear it without the the cold-shoulder sleeves showing) in Petite XS (sized up from Petite XXS for length purposes). I wear a strapless sticky bra with this top to avoid bra straps showing – my favorite is here. The top tucks in well and I can easily add a sweater or blazer for the office!
