Outfit Inspiration: 5 Easy Fall Outfit Ideas
I cannot believe it’s nearing the end of October already! Today, I’m putting together Outfit Inspiration with 5 Go-To Fall Looks for anyone! Many of these items may have been on your Capsule Wardrobe Starter Kit and now I’ll re-purpose them in fall outfits. I have a combination of casual and work outfits to recommend today – and you can always substitute the pants to make the outfit casual or business casual! These are also classic items that come back season-after-season as you’ll see some of my photos are from previous posts!

Cozy Cardigan + Basic Tee + Plaid Scarf
I LOVE a basic tee to start off a layering outfit. This one is my favorite from FIGS (old post here or here with discount codes) and it also comes in gray or black. I paired a cozy layering cardigan over it – I love the mink color (taupe/light brown) and you can style it open or button-closed. More photos of this cardigan also in teal green on this blog post. Finish off the outfit with some fall inspiration with a classic plaid scarf!

I love a holiday-inspired plaid shirt and this one is a favorite from J. Crew Factory. J. Crew and their Factory Store always have amazing (and classic) button-down shirts to choose from! I layered the scarf over this again with dark-wash jeans and my favorite fall ankle booties that are petite-friendly (why I love them + how to wear with socks on this blog post).

Longsleeve Tee + White Denim + Red Scarf
I’m not one to follow the Don’t wear white after Labor Day Rule and love styling white denim with versatile wardrobe basics. Here I’m wearing a basic longsleeve tee (again from FIGS) and adding a bunch of color with this red scarf from Krochet Kids. I finished off the look with waterproof fall riding boots. Moto Jacket + Lace Top
I am loving this moto jacket as a newer addition to my wardrobe. It is the perfect fall layer and it is also the perfect leather jacket alternative (for me at least who can’t find a black leather jacket to fit properly!). I styled it with a go-to lace top and white denim with classic heels.
You can easily transition this look for work by replacing the white denim with a flare skirt or pencil skirt! I’ve done that in this outfit below:

Ok…now to a more work-friendly fall outfit.
Hunter Green Blouse + Flare Skirt
Both of these items are on my Wardrobe Essentials list and I love styling them season-to-season. I brought out the classic black flare skirt and tied in fall-hues with a hunter green blouse. I added a belt to accent my waist (my favorite reversible one of course) and finished off the look with bow-detailed heels.
You can transition this outfit to a casual look by replacing the skirt with leggings or opaque tights (this is a longer tunic blouse when untucked) and replacing the heels with riding boots.
