You know I love versatility so I put together this spring outfit to wear to work! Yes, you CAN bring in color and print to a work outfit! Of course, you know that teal and mint green are a few of my favorites so I brought those pieces into this outfit. Instead of the classic pencil skirt or black skirt for work, why not mix it up and wear a polka dot style.
How do I make this skirt work appropriate?
- Hem of the skirt hits me just at or just above the knee. Thus, it’s an appropriate length for the work setting.
- The skirt is a neutral with white and black colors in it.
- It’s fully lined! Despite the white color, you will have no problem with seeing your undergarments or tucked in tops through this skirt!
- Hidden zipper and defined waistband. I forgot to take a photo of the back of this skirt but it does feature a hidden zipper and you can see the defined waistband.
For sizing, this particular skirt is a regular 00. It does fit a little big in my waist and required a little alteration. It is still in stock though in a few sizes and on MAJOR sale!
Outfit Details:
Top: Banana Republic XXSP (similar or similar)
Skirt: J. Crew Factory 00 altered (exact or similar)
Shoes: Salvatore Ferragamo Size 5.5C (similar or similar for less + heel insert & friction-block stick for comfort)
Cardigan: Banana Republic Factory XXSP (similar or similar)
Necklace: J. Crew Factory (exact on sale or similar)
Handbag: Kate Spade (exact or similar + handbag organizer I love)
Watch: Daniel Wellington c/o (exact)
Bracelet: The Gibson Collective (similar)
I pulled one of the neutral colors from the skirt into my top. I love a classic sleeveless blouse and this one pairs well with this outfit. I also stayed neutral with my shoes and opted for my go-to Salvatore Ferragamo bow heels in black. These are hands-down my most comfortable work heels and yes, they are an investment but worth it if you can snag them on sale or using reward points at Bloomingdale’s or Nordstrom.
To further elevate this outfit, I added a classic pearl necklace to the neckline along with a classic watch and pearl bracelet. Finally, I brought in my mint green color for my cardigan (completer piece) and handbag. The cardigan is a nice quality with thick fabric and buttons. My handbag is a classic style that is work appropriate but in a fun pastel color! I love Kate Spade for their handbag designs and color options each season!
12 Affordable (& Fun) Pieces for Spring:
