This Talbots Wrap Ruana is the perfect fall/autumn layer. It is great for busy professionals to grab on the go!
Why do I love it?
- Fit: I don’t usually purchase wraps and have never owned a ruana but the fit is perfect for petites! You can simply wrap it in any way you like to fit your body type. Drape it, belt it or just place on cold legs (with skirts/dresses!). No tailoring is a bonus for petite ladies!
- Warmth: If you are like me, you are always cold at work with the air conditioning blasting! This warp ruana is perfect for keeping at your office to wrap whenever the chill gets to be too much! I also love this type of wrap for airline flights and long car rides where air conditioning may not be in your complete control.
- Colors: Wraps and ruanas come in many different colors and prints. This particular Talbots Wrap Ruana is navy/ivory/coral pink and is neutral enough to match almost any outfit you’re already wearing at work! It checks off comfort and style criteria!
- Machine washable: I LOVE when clothing clearly states machine washable on the Product Description. I believe this is especially important when discussing a wrap or ruana since you will be carrying it around and wearing it randomly during the week; you definitely want to wash it easily (who knows what kind of germs are on airplanes!)
- All seasons: Although this Talbots Wrap Ruana is marketed for a great transition into fall/autumn, the style definitely makes it easily wearable all-year round. Bonus: no need to put this away after November/December!
Outfit Details: Talbots Wrap Ruana (one size), Tieks Black Obsidian Size 6 (see review HERE), 7 for All Mankind Crop Skinny Size 24, Black Top (similar HERE or HERE)
Note: I purposely did not Photoshop the wrinkles out of these photos. Just as in real everyday life, I’m not going to iron or steam this wrap before I wear it…it is meant for a grab & go item for layering. That means–yes it will wrinkle–when it’s thrown into your tote bag.
How does a Wrap Ruana compare to oversized blanket scarves or lightweight scarves?
I own many of these scarves (Oversize HERE or HERE or HERE; Lightweight HERE or HERE) and the Talbots Wrap Ruana is completely different. It is tightly woven fabric and a different cut to more easily drape around your body and keep you warm. It is also easier to clean compared to most of my scarves simply because of the fabric composition. If you aren’t sure about purchasing a wrap ruana over a scarf, consider it. They have different purposes/functions and it is a great staple in your wardrobe.
If anyone snagged last year’s highly popular Talbots wrap ruana in orange/red/tan plaid color than this is another great edition to your wardrobe. Unlike the one from last year, I think this color is more versatile and will be easier to wear all-year round because of the classic color & style.
Do you own a wrap or ruana? If so, how do you wear yours?
